Resourceful and earth-conscious ways to reuse a yoga mat so it doesn't have to go to landfill:

  • Make dog and cat mats to go under their food dishes stay put. Cut to size required.

  • Donate to homeless shelters as sleeping pads.

  • Use an craft knife to cut out shapes, letters, numbers, etc. Perfect for little fingers. 

  • Protect your car seats from damage by pets.

  • Drop off your old mat at an animal rescue shelter. 

  • Use in the workshop to keep wood/metal from slipping on the workbench while processing it.

  • Place the mat over a section of your garden and the mat and the sun’s heat will smother weeds and their seeds. 

  • Garden knee pads.

  • Workshop mat on cold hard floors to give you some cushioning under foot.

  • Cut it up to make mouse pads.

  • Use it on the beach instead of a towel.

  • Grip pads to open jars.

  • Cut to size and use as foot pads for the bottom of furniture that is on a wood or ceramic floor.

  • Use to sit on at sports and outdoor events.

  • Camping mat to provide extra comfort for sleeping on.

  • Use a piece as a non slip pad in your baby bath if it is a plastic mat not a rubber mat.
